Land, Climate, and the Environment
KSP’s 2025–2026 cohort studied the topic of land, climate, and the environment. We interviewed community members from Koreatown, Pico-Union, and Westlake whose work and experiences speak to the intersections of environment, community, and place—including artists, educators, climate specialists, urban development professionals, and parks department workers.
Through these perspectives, we gathered information and insights that help us understand how environmental issues shape our communities.

Stop the Hate: Community Building & Community Care
KSP and KYCC’s Environmental Services joined together for the Stop the Hate campaign, which brought community members together to create art and reimagine safety. Listen to our podcast featuring voices from K-Town, Westlake, and Pico-Union, exploring what keeps our community connected and secure.
Community Arts Workshops with Local Artists!
KSP hosted FREE arts workshops for high school youth and community members to learn new techniques and co-create in community. Local teaching artists have joined us to teach various art forms, including bojagi, ceramics, pocket altars, sewing, cyanotypes, and more.
Learning How to Make Bengali Food!
Led by Rozina, a celebrated foodmaker from Little Bangladesh, we learned how to make a delicious butter chicken masala. Using ingredients from Bangla Bazar, KSP students, staff, and community members followed her step-by-step instructions to cook the homemade meal.
