Oakland Koreatown

In August 2024, KSP had the opportunity to travel up north to Oakland, CA, to document the stories of residents in Oakland’s Koreatown community. With generous funding from the Korean American Community Foundation of San Fransisco, we partnered with our friends at Korean American Story to interview first-gen community members of Oakland Koreatown. These narrators included property and business owners, as well as community activists who were vital members in the creation of the Korean American community in the East Bay.
