Meztli Projects Teaches us Linocut
On Thursday, March 19, our longtime partners Meztli Projects taught an exciting workshop on linocut. We created our designs with inspiration from native plants, drawing and carving various designs onto linoleum sheets/rubber. Once our designs were ready, we stamped them onto paper to create prints to take home with us!
Thank you once again Meztli Projects for walking us through this technique. Meztli Projects is an Indigenous based arts & culture collaborative centering Indigeneity into the creative practice of Los Angeles by using arts-based strategies to support, advocate for, and organize to highlight Native and Indigenous Artists and systems-impacted youth.
These workshops are in collaboration with the Department of Public Health’s Substance Abuse Prevention and Control Bureau for their RYSE initiative.
You can find more upcoming workshops and events at our events page.
