Meztli Projects Returns to Teach Native Beading and Patchmaking

Yesterday, we welcomed back our amazing partners Meztli Projects for a second arts workshop! This time, we learned native beading techniques, which we sewed onto various patches. They talked about beading as medicine, grounding, and an intentional practice. They also shared a beading project that is currently on display in the city, showing us how art can be used as a voice and community tool.

These workshops are in collaboration with the Department of Public Health’s Substance Abuse Prevention and Control Bureau for their RYSE initiative.

You can find more upcoming workshops and events at our events page.
