Recovery Month Billboards with KYCC!
As National Recovery Month comes to a close, we are proud to share the launch of our recovery billboards in Koreatown!
Last year, the Koreatown Youth and Community Center received funding from the HEAR US grant, which is supported by the California Department of Health Care Services and The Center at Sierra Health Foundation. With this support, KSP partnered with KYCC’s Prevention Education and Recovery Service units to guide local youth in conducting interviews with community members about their recovery journeys.
One of those powerful stories is now featured on a billboard, designed by Rachel Kim, with a quote written in the interviewee’s own handwriting. This small but meaningful detail reminds us that recovery is personal, real, and worth celebrating.
We are so proud to see the voices of our community uplifted and represented above the streets of Koreatown. You can visit our billboards at Western & Beverly and Olympic & Alvarado. Together, we honor the strength of those on their recovery journeys and the youth who helped bring their stories to life.
